PF · Rec · Priorities: Shooting + Defense
For Rec players who want to play power forward without being a spacing liability: pull the opposing big out of the paint, then still guard the four and switch onto wings.

Trade-offs
add_circle Strengths
- check Forces opposing bigs to defend away from the rim
- check Corner and catch-and-shoot gravity creates room for slashers
- check Can switch onto wings without giving up the drive
- check One build covers PF spacing and second-line defense
remove_circle Trade-offs
- warning Rebounding investment is thinner than a dedicated anchor — the five must cover the glass
- warning Finishing budget shrinks; you punish closeouts instead of creating at the rim
- warning If the shot is not reliable, the build becomes a slow defender with no role
What Is Still Uncertain
Exact attribute thresholds, badge requirements, animation requirements, and optimal attribute distributions may change as more NBA 2K27 testing data becomes available. We do not publish numbers we cannot trace to a verifiable source.
Revives the PF slot after BD-027-004 was retired (defense+rebounding PF was not homogeneous across sources). This direction leads with spacing and keeps defense as the second priority; review after more comp-season PF data.
Supporting Evidence

Day 1 PF recommendation is a "Defensive Stretch Four": enough shooting to pull opposing bigs away from the paint, backed by rebounding and interior defense; in Rec, a PF who stands in the corner, crashes the glass, and switches onto wings gives the lineup flexibility.
- Editorial TimeSaver.gg · not independentmedium
The Stretch Four archetype "drags an opposing big away from the rim and punishes drop coverage with real three-point range": frame taller with manageable weight, and Shooting climbs near the top of the badge-token budget alongside Rebounding.
- Tool NBA2KLab · independentmedium
Recommended PF "Glass Cleaning Lock" (6'9) is defense and rebounding first but "can hit in the corner with ease" — consistent with a PF role where shooting is graded by corner reliability rather than primary creation.
- Editorial games.gg · independenthigh
The recommended 5v5 PF is a "mobile stretch defender" (6'8"-6'9"): space the floor, rotate early, ~80 Interior Defense, low-to-high 80s Block, ~82 Perimeter Defense, mid-80s Speed/Agility — and shooting reliable enough that defenders cannot abandon the corner.
